Complete chassis support

The same workshop that builds your kit sets it up: fitting, alignment, corner-weighting, dyno tuning, track support, and rebuilds and revalving for life. Any car, kit or not, and any driver. You don't need to be an enthusiast: if you're in the hills and your car needs suspension work, you're welcome.

All done in-house in Monbulk, Victoria.

Development Consultancy

Advice and data from the people who develop the kits, and the cars they go under. Brett instructed at the HSV Academy alongside Brock, Lowndes and Harvey and spent ten years as a Winton test driver. Every answer comes from the seat and the dyno, not a catalogue.

Suspension consultancy

An hour with the people who develop the kits: which arms, bushes and rates suit your car and how you drive it, and why. Street, drift, circuit, drag or tarmac rally. You leave with a spec and the reasoning behind it, not a sales pitch.

Custom chassis development

When the catalogue runs out, we keep going: bespoke chassis with inboard suspension, custom stub axles and uprights, one-off struts for cars nobody makes parts for. The GT40s and the carbon Renner Speedster came through the same door. Bring the car and the problem; development is scoped on the hoist and quoted per project.

Race team data review

Bring the footage and the logs: what the car is doing, where the time is, and what to change next. The same review we run on our own WTAC program. Included with a top-tier build.

On-Track Support

Multiple damper changes in a single day, without the engineer day-rate. WTAC, Bayside Matsuri, VicDrift, Targa. The ute comes to the track so you spend the session driving, not guessing.

Track support

The ute comes to the track: gassing station, spares and a fold-out bench. Damping force, spring, swaybar and alignment changes between sessions, plus driver feedback. If we already have a stand up at your event, existing customers get looked after at no charge, within reason. Primarily Victoria, elsewhere in Australia and internationally by arrangement. Book well ahead.

On-track testing

When the driver can feel it but not name it, we drive the car and find it: spring balance, damper tuning, the lot. Bring the car and the problem, leave with the answer.

Workshop

Suspension work done properly, by the people who build the dampers: shock dyno, corner scales and alignment gear, all in-house. Everyone's welcome: daily drivers, family cars, work utes and wheelchair carriers as much as track cars.

from $700

Fitting

One visit: your kit fitted, ride height and preload set, four-wheel alignment and a road test, everything torqued to spec. Premium platforms from $900.

from $150

Wheel alignment

Performance alignment dialled to your setup and how you drive, not a chain-store preset.

A Longacre AccuSet corner-weight readout showing each wheel weight and the cross weight at 49.89 per cent
from $500

Corner-weighting

Scales-on corner balancing and track setup so the car is even and predictable at the limit.

from $60 a corner

Dyno tuning

Damper force traces measured and tuned on the shock dyno, with a before-and-after sheet to prove it. Shockworks and Neotech dampers.

from $200

Rebuilds and revalving

We strip, service and revalve your dampers as the car evolves: Shockworks and Neotech. Not just for tired kits. Our valving moves as we develop chassis, so an older kit can come up to a current code, and a track car can be revalved to chase the next increment. Interstate? Post your dampers in and we quote before any work starts.

Valving and springs

Custom valving to a new spec, or a spring-rate changeover, old springs off and the new rate fitted. Often all a car needs to come alive.

Enterprise & OEM

When the customer is a manufacturer, the same shop answers. Send the brief, confidential if it needs to be.

New platforms and special cases

First-in-Australia development for anything that competes on a surface: tarmac, gravel, autocross, street car to carbon one-off. Import Monster left a brand-new GR Yaris with us for a year, we bought an i30 N new purely to develop on, and co-developed Mustangs won the 2015 Australian Tarmac Rally Championship outright. The odd ones land here too: stunt and driver-training fleets, rally cars like this Doncaster MINI, anything with no catalogue entry and a specific problem to solve. Typically four to eight weeks.

Mobility and access builds

Vehicles set up for the loads they carry and the people who use them, NDIS-funded conversions included. A three-wheeler like this one isn't a toy, it's the mobility vehicle: what keeps its rider on the road when a bike or a car won't do. This one rode every joint in the road, because its rider is light enough that the factory springs barely moved. Revalved to work at her weight. Tell us about the vehicle and what it needs to do.

Dealer-fitted options

The CX-60 launched to a well-documented complaint about its ride. Ringwood Mazda brought us in, and Shockworks suspension is now a dealer option on the car: specced for the platform, built in Monbulk, ordered with the vehicle. If you sell cars and want a fix on the order form instead of a job the customer takes elsewhere, talk to us.

OEM and trade consulting

Chassis development and damper consulting for vehicle manufacturers, low-volume and concept vehicles, and special-situation builds. The CV runs from damper tuning on the first BMW MINI and X5 to 90 handmade prototype dampers for the first BA Falcon, the HSV GTS MagneRide, armoured diplomatic vehicles and every Melbourne-built GT40. Premcar put us on the Holy Grail GTHO. Their engineering director recommends our dampers over anything on the market.

Tell us the car and what you need and we will come back with a time and a confirmed price. No enthusiast knowledge needed, just tell us what the car is doing. Rather talk? Call 0473 584 884.
